Systems Administrator II

Description

We are looking for a System Administrator to join our growing IT department. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining our compute infrastructure including servers, workstations, and related networks. System Administrator II responsibilities include monitoring system performance and configuring new software and hardware. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with various operating systems. Ultimately, you will ensure our software, hardware, servers and networks run smoothly and our end users have the best possible experience using our compute systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues

• Monitor and maintain the network infrastructure

• Install and maintain workstations, servers, devices and firewalls

• Train new system users and set up their accounts

• Provide daily end user support

• Monitor the performance of servers, software and hardware

• Ensure the smooth deployment of new applications

• Update technical documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience

• 5 – 7 years’ experience as a System Administrator

• Expert level skills with multiple Operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS

• Good problem-solving and communication skills

• Experience creating and maintaining both technical and non-technical documentation

• US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Mobile Device Management

• Industry certifications in relevant technologies

• Working knowledge of at least one scripting language

• Experience in building and maintaining a High-Performance Computing environment to support AI initiatives

• Knowledge of system security techniques
